Knit – Warm and Cozy

With temperatures dropping to the teens here in NYC, we’re bundling up! It seems that novelty knits have been stealing the scene in menswear, womenswear and even home so we had to share some of our favorites!

Streetlook – Hyper Houndstooth

Strolling the streets of Tribeca, we spotted this lovely lady wearing such an outstanding coat! Check out her over-sized houndstooth print! Right on trend, we love the use of red instead of the everyday black and white and of course we had to head to our library to see what we could come up with!

Trending – Military Influence

From structured jackets to badges and boots, military styles have taken the industry by storm this Fall/Winter season!

Military doesn’t always have to include camouflage prints.What we love most about this trend is the color palette! Make use of saturated olives, forest greens and deep navy hues in your collection to translate this trend  in a more subtle and sophisticated way.

Trending – Fair Isle

In the midst of this Winter season,there has been a noticeable presence in bulky sweaters,cable knits,oversized cardigans, and cozy furs. The strongest must have trend is coming from Fair Isle patterns!

Once thought of as “on the verge of tacky” holiday themed patterns, a.k.a. Fair Isles, have made quite a comeback in nearly every market, and on everything from accessories and apparel to home items. Runway designers have helped  popularize Fair Isles this Fall 2010 season in their Womens and  Menswear lines and we are loving it!

The traditional knitting technique originated in a tiny isle off northern Scotland and has remained unscathed throughout decades!
