Nothing screams summer like summer dresses in groovy prints! We love the color story going on in this abstract print we spotted so we headed to our print library to make a collection!

Good thing EzTextiles allows users to lock colors that you like and search for prints which contain those specific colors.  It made making our collection a breeze! In under 10 minutes we were able to collect 2 full pages of designs!  See how quickly you can wow your design team with dozens of ideas by clicking the inspiration pic below!

Inspiration – Abstract En Vogue

We’re feeling inspired by Mexican mixed media artist Prince Lauder’s fashion inspired illustrations. His creative technique infuses a variety of textures and abstract details. This pulled us into searching our abstract prints library! Check out our colorful collection with a definate pop art influence and start building your own.

Prints – Wave it, Swirl it

We’ve been browsing around for great shots of patterns used during Paris Fashion Week, and we found some good ones over at none other than TheSartorialist of course!

We absolutely LOVED the wave and swirly design used at one of the designer shows. The organic marbleized technique was seen on jackets, dresses and even down to socks. We sense a “wave” of retro patterns coming soon!

Trending – Spring Novelty Prints

Fruits, Animals, Everyday objects…….as prints?

For Spring 2011, designers have taken a whimsical approach in their design process. Novelty is proving to be a dominant trend in prints.

The ongoing mix & match concept goes hand in hand with this playful use of random objects and abstract forms to make fun conversational patterns!

Inspiration – Collage It

We love coming across young artists with unyielding experimental and creative ideas that prove to be inspirational for textile and surface designers!

Checkout Aaron Wexler, an artist with a knack for his mixed media of painting with a cut and paste technique. There is a fluid presence in his abstract work, as well as a unique use of pop colors seen in his organic and geometric patterns.

Prints – 70′s Comeback

Reflecting on the 70s trend from our recent post…we compiled a few prints that capture the essence of the bright, fun, and groovy decade. We found that funky abstract florals, bold geo’s, and psychedelic colorways are the perfect mix to accurately represent this rising trend in textiles!

Prints – Geometrically Speaking

The SS/2011 runways showcased more than a handful of designers being influenced by the iconic Peggy Guggenheim.

Whether it was for her extroverted character, style, jewels or statement sunglasses, we as textile designers can see all the reasons to be inspired as well. Peggy was an art lover, collector and advocate for all things avant-garde. She accumulated and promoted cutting edge pieces by influential artists such as Picasso, Man Ray,  Dali, Miró, Chagall and many others.

We think she would definitely approve of some unconventional, colorful and bold textile and graphic prints like the ones we put together.

Feeling inspired by Peggy? Find these textiles and more by in our Geometric-inspired collection!
