On the Street – Kaleido Krazy

We all know that optical prints have been showing up everywhere… now let’s talk about taking those images and manipulating them into a fantastic new kaleidoscopic print! That’s just what we captured in the streetlook below! Check out the dress we spotted in Chelsea, NYC and then see our Kaleidoscope-inspired collection we created using images on EzTextiles. Don’t be shy to use your imagination and mix-and-match funky prints to create an exciting line sheet.

Menswear – The Flowerman

Who says men can’t wear floral prints?

The Rolling Stones made it acceptable for men in the mid 60s and 70s to wear florals, in fact it became a fashion statement! We think its time to bring it back now, especially that 70’s style is rolling back around for the Spring season as a major trend!

Dainty pretty florals need not apply here… Instead we foresee a more embellished vintage feel of foulard floral motifs, intricate decorative foliage and stamped flowers on mens shirtings!

Add a twist to your menswear line by exploring these vintage florals!

Wovens – Plaid and Stripe Play

We came across this great shot from the Sartorialist and we were instantly inspired by the experimental use of mixing a large neutral balanced plaid, against a bias striped tie!

We love that this look isn’t too over the top… It still has a classic appeal, but keeps the blazer style from looking too boring or traditional, especially with a little subtle color in the stripes!

Check out our inspired plaid & bias stripe combo board to download them.

Fruits, Animals, Everyday objects…….as prints?

For Spring 2011, designers have taken a whimsical approach in their design process. Novelty is proving to be a dominant trend in prints.

The ongoing mix & match concept goes hand in hand with this playful use of random objects and abstract forms to make fun conversational patterns!
