Inspiration – Collage It

We love coming across young artists with unyielding experimental and creative ideas that prove to be inspirational for textile and surface designers!

Checkout Aaron Wexler, an artist with a knack for his mixed media of painting with a cut and paste technique. There is a fluid presence in his abstract work, as well as a unique use of pop colors seen in his organic and geometric patterns.

Inspiration – Fantastic Fatalism

As visually stimulated people, we couldn’t help but be inspired by Heyniek, a graduate from the Design Academy of Eindhoven. His mood boards and illustrations for his collection, “Fantastic Fatalism” are breathtakingly creative! We love how imaginative and eclectic his eye is for putting together some intense patterns and colors!

Prints – Geometrically Speaking

The SS/2011 runways showcased more than a handful of designers being influenced by the iconic Peggy Guggenheim.

Whether it was for her extroverted character, style, jewels or statement sunglasses, we as textile designers can see all the reasons to be inspired as well. Peggy was an art lover, collector and advocate for all things avant-garde. She accumulated and promoted cutting edge pieces by influential artists such as Picasso, Man Ray,  Dali, Miró, Chagall and many others.

We think she would definitely approve of some unconventional, colorful and bold textile and graphic prints like the ones we put together.

Feeling inspired by Peggy? Find these textiles and more by in our Geometric-inspired collection!
