Pastels may be the norm for childrenswear, but how about some colorful prints? We feel that a brigher and bolder approach would freshen up this market! Check out how easy it is to turn a onesie into a conversation piece! Try your hand at designing with all sorts of fun combinations.

Play around with these modern baby prints..

It’s a Man Baby!

Ladies leave your briefcase behind but don’t forget your Bowler!

Women’s fashion this fall has a strong Menswear influence with a feminine twist that makes a strong sexy statement.  Tweeds and twills are the key fabrics this season.  Pinstripes and plaids are on pant suits, while foulards will be used to accessorize, like on the ribbons around Fedoras in order to keep the masculine theme alive.  Let’s not forget the preppy girls who will layer an argyle vest over a button down oxford, and grey flannel shorts.

Here, we have pulled together some menswear inspired patterns from our Knits, Wovens and Print Libraries which you can also download!

Stripes – Striped Down

It’s a fact that stripes are big this season – and by BIG we mean size proportions! Menswear and Womenswear RTW collections showed an interest in going bold with large scale stripes on everything from jackets to dresses. Some designers took a chance with coordinatedshort suits in neutral stripes, while others elongated the figure in wide vertical stripes. Risky? Yes. Do you think consumers will catch on to this trend in stripes?

On the Street – Prints

We love stepping outside and seeing prints! This lovely lady was spotted crossing the street in a colorful geometric pattern composed of circles and abstract florals!

Hmm…we recall doing a similar board with geo patterns on this post just a few days ago!

Prints – Geometrically Speaking

The SS/2011 runways showcased more than a handful of designers being influenced by the iconic Peggy Guggenheim.

Whether it was for her extroverted character, style, jewels or statement sunglasses, we as textile designers can see all the reasons to be inspired as well. Peggy was an art lover, collector and advocate for all things avant-garde. She accumulated and promoted cutting edge pieces by influential artists such as Picasso, Man Ray,  Dali, Miró, Chagall and many others.

We think she would definitely approve of some unconventional, colorful and bold textile and graphic prints like the ones we put together.

Feeling inspired by Peggy? Find these textiles and more by in our Geometric-inspired collection!

Knitwear – Nordic vs Novelty

Judging by the popularity that Nordic influence has had over consumers from the last F/W collections, we have a hunch that his Fall season will have a certain focus on Knits. Preppy argyles, nordic fairisles, and whimsical novelty patterns will be seen on everything from chunky sweaters to thigh high stockings!

Check out the selection below, then search on your own from our Knits library!

Plaids – LumberJane

Lumberjacks need not apply for Fall/Winter, because Jane has arrived with her plaid in tow. This traditional tartan was seen carried throughout the runways in dresses, pantsuits, top, bottoms, you name it. We loved that this classic lumberjack style tartan is being brought back again… You know you can’t go wrong with this colorway.
